Well....well....well 2010 is in the rear view mirror and a bright new 2011 is ahead of us! So in the spirit of new beginnings, I made a promise to myself that I would begin to reach out to Cameron Park and make sure that enVision 2030 becomes a reality to more people in Cameron Park. For those new to enVision 2030 please stay tuned. There are great things in store for us. Back to the point....True to my promise I am here writing my first ever blog entry. Yeah me! Blog....What is a "blog" anyway? Well, I have come to know (or think I know) that it is short for "weblog". Two syllables is apparently excessive for digi-talk (is that a word?). So you ask, "what is a weblog anyway? Looking across the "internets" it really is hard to nail down specifically. So the best I can do is to let you know that this blog will be sort of an "anti-diary" of my, or rather our, Cameron Park experiences and happenings with an emphasis on the future and what it holds for us. What I mean by "anti-diary" is that, traditionally diaries are private things. Diaries are about personal stuff. Not this blog. This blog is not about private stuff it is about stuff that effects you and I. It is about stuff that effects Cameron Park. However because diaries are private, meant to be read by the author, the prose is a bit looser, less refined than say a memoir or auto-biography. And, much to my mother the english teacher's dismay my writing simply is......well, "less refined". So because of my similarity to the writing style found in diaries, and because of the inverse relationship to the privacy of a diary, I dub this the first ever "Anti-diary". Don't quote me on that though. I am pretty sure it is the first ever "Cameron Park Anti-diary". I hope you all will take a few very precious moments out of your days, weeks or month's to visit our blog once in a while and let me....no, let us know what is up in Cameron Park from where you are standing. I promise to do the same.
So to recap, this blog will be the anti-diary of Cameron Park. I hope you enjoy it and find it enriching. Oh speaking of enriching a few ground rules moving forward. I am not opposed to the occasional rant (emphasis on occasional), primarily because they can be constructive if followed up with positive and constructive solutions to the problem. But I really, really, really want to focus on good things happening in C.P. and on moving in a positive way towards 2030. That is not to say that if you have some heartburn with something going on, that there are not positive ways to frame your issue. Please do not hesitate to post whatever problem you have. I would just like to refrain from "Aunt Betsy's d*#@% dog won't shut up.... Or the CSD is a bunch of crooks that need to be taken out back and shot! Call me cooky that just doesn't strike me as constructive. Thx for reading.
